One of the many reasons i love sketches, and in the same breath poetry, is the curation. There is an economy of line, space, and word. In these self imposed restrictions (like pruning?) we are able to say “look here!”. It is the decisions i find so fascinating. In these decisions, lines open up into worlds, phrases become tomes, and just as quickly, they deflate and hide into less than what they are.
